The folks who manage wastewater treatment for Liberty Lake, Washington,  have run up against an unintended consequence of all that hand-washing and disinfecting we’ve been encouraged to do to help fight the coronavirus. It’s killing the bacteria that help breakdown the waste in wastewater. “We’re a little at a loss, because we can’t tell people, stop washing your hands or using bleach.”
