Opening towards the end of 2022, this plant will recycle 80,000 metric tons of plastic a year. The technology used at this facility will heat and pressurize water to such a point that the byproduct becomes gas and water at the same time. Plastic is then broken down into the oils and chemicals it was originally made from and ready to be turned into plastic again; all in about 25 minutes! Usually plastic is recycled only once, or at best twice using traditional methods. But at this new plant using, there is no limit to the number of times it can be recycled.
