“The community of Grayling on the lower Yukon has adopted what might be the strictest measures in Alaska for protecting residents from contracting or spreading the coronavirus.” And, recognizing Grayling’s residents need immediate financial support, the local tribal council is giving each of the community’s 61 households $250 “to assist residents with buying enough essential food and cleaning supplies.” If only our elected officials in Washington could move with such deliberate speed and purpose.
