California’s only wolf pack recently doubled in size with the addition of eight new pups. The Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the births but would not say exactly where they took place in order to keep “the state’s rarest critters safe from wolf hunters who would do them harm, as well as from wolf admirers who would disturb the new family’s privacy.” This is the “fourth consecutive annual litter for the state’s lone pack.”
