A thing of the future they may be, but one researcher at Michigan State University believes the octopus and its many dexterous arms may “hold the key to restoring limb function in humans.” By studying the complex movement of an octopuses’ eight arms “we may be able to give people back the use of the arms — to be able to pick up a cup or hold a child — which would be an amazing gift.”
