It was not unusually hot for a mid-summer Saturday evening — 71 degrees — unless you are on a Norwegian island a little over 600 miles from the North Pole where it should be in the mid-40s in late July. “Global warming in the Arctic is happening twice as fast as for the rest of the planet,” and this “relative heatwave” is due to last through Monday.
